Gee Spencer
What a profound analysis of the Findlays. I am amazed by the depth of your wisdom and the clear way that you present an argument.
Why don't you get a life jerk, instead of pretending that you know what you are talking about.

RE: Are the Finley Awards a crock
Of course the Finley Awards are a crock!
Why?
Because as a theatre community we are all too nice!!
When was the last time there was a fight outside the venue because someone didn't like the fact that they came second?
When was the last time an entire theatre group walked out en masse because they were ignored in the awards?
When was the last time the objectivity of the adjudicators was called into question?
[Oh, I'm sorry, that happens every year doesn't it]
Maybe it is time that the ITA thought about extending the awards... Y'know I bet that if we actually did have Best Actor/Director awards at the Finleys there would be a lot more bad blood about.
And this is EXACTLY what we need to make the night TRULY interesting!
More fighting, more bitching, more irreparable rifts between people...

At least I can spell it - it'd Finley, not Findlay.

Exactly why we don't need them at all!

Oh no, you have cleverly found the one fatal flaw in my argument !
I suppose that I must bow out of this discussion, lest I get so soundly rebuffed again that my feelings get hurt.
Be careful Spencer (If that is your real name), you may think that you have a glimmering of wit, but at best you are half right.

Mr Dixon,
I just wonder if you would feel the same if you won the Finley Award????

Give many better productions don't enter, the award would seem rather shallow.

At it again, eh "Spencer"?
Can't leave that royal plural alone? If the ip address wasn't a give away, your persistance in wanting to speak for everyone would give it away every time.
You still haven't answered my question. Why do you consider the Finley Night a crock?
Can you articulate a response that goes for longer than a few lines, or are you just trolling for a few flames?
Cheers
Grant
