Make sure you trust who you are talking to...
To anyone responding to Alexandra Dixon make sure you can verify who you are talking to. She has hi-jacked this thread, not provided any contact details and has not registered with this website so that she can be verified. It appears to look dodgy (whether or not that is the case).
Any legitimate Television Commercials go through the proper channels-casting agents then agencies who advise their actors that a commercial is being cast at this casting place.
Make sure you know who the casting agent is, which client they are casting for, what the rate of pay for that TVC is, the length and time required of the actor etc. No pay for legitimate TVCs for actors is not looked upon favourably by the Actors Equity in Australia. You can view the federal award rates for television commercials here http://www.alliance.org.au/docman/task,doc_view/gid,14/
Make sure you know who you are talking to. The internet is too easily used improperly.
Paul Mclaughlin.

Mistake
With reference to the post by Alex Dixon, my daughter is currently working in Asia thanks to this woman. She unfortunately has made a mistake with her posting her post as a reply rather than a new post. She is not familiar with this site and how to set up new posts and registering. I will advise her of her mistake, but be assured that this is a legitimate posting and will be rectified shortly. The warnings are a good thing, but in this case it is just a legitimate mistake in the setting up of her post.

I can understand why it's
I can understand why it's difficult and casting people sometimes look to external places esp. for Asian performers in Australia...I have faith it may just be a misunderstanding...
ho-hum. I am interested to find out more but she has given no contact details in her post and it's a bit hard to contact her to verify the work offered...
oh well..

Wow, yes I did put this in the wrong place, but what a confusing site, I'm so sorry for the error.
My main aim is to assist our young aussie talent to gain some experience and payment, in work that is extremely hard to get here in Australia. My own daughter was such a talent, couldn't get a talent or model agent to look at her, because of her colouring. Now she is doing amazing things in the commercial world in Asia. I'm looking for a specific look, that is not popular with agencies here, so I need to find alternate ways to find the talent. It may not seem orthodox to some of the more conventional, but it is necessary to find the needles in a haystack.
If any of you want to contact me and verify who I am, you are welcome to email me direct on alexdixon1@hotmail.com
In the mean time, I will try and figure this site out!

Dear Paul,
Thanks for putting that link up for Actors Equity, its interesting to see the difference between payments in this market and the ones I place my talent in.
I must say though, that I was surpised at how low the pay is in Australia. But I guess, Australia is a much smaller market and is to be expected.
Thanks again and please feel free to contact me direct.
Regards
Alexandra
